Letting Dead Things go

I love Fall for so many reasons. But one of the best things about this season is watching the leaves change colors and fall off the trees. This quote is so powerful. Although letting the dead things go may often be painful, it is often God-ordained and leads to such beauty.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven… a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. – Ecclesiastes 3:1,6

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. – Philippians 3:7-9

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. – Ephesians 4:31-32

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:18-19
